les Eglantines

the Village

Mailly-Maillet is a picturesque village of 620 inhabitants. Situated just behind the front line during WWI the village was spared from heavy shelling and has kept most of its original buildings. Amongst them and definitely worth a visit are the “Eglise St Pierre” built in the XVI Century and the “Chapelle Madame” both listed historic buildings.
There is an excellent butcher who also sells other goods, a baker whose speciality is the brioche, a café, a chemist, a post-office, a medical centre and a veterinary surgery.
Guided walks through the village can be organised, just ask Brigitte
